Mic Fort Brings The Danger! (Music Video)

Mic Fort is keeping up momentum with another new release that features a few Chicago artists. Mic has been keeping his fans occupied with a few hit singles this year following his sophomore LP PENUMBRA. Sittin on singles like WIFI DOWN, TRUST MYSELF & LIVING LIFE ft Dee-Jay, Mic Fort now gives us DANGER. Bringing back Dee-Jay, Deen Akbar and StankNasty who is hot off a debut EP release titled EPIC and a hit single with AMK and Johnny Innuendo, Gerald The Genius L. Mic Fort and StankNasty are not unfamiliar either, having worked together on a track before called LIBRA SCALE, a tribute to the respective astrological sign.

DANGER comes with a music video directed by AIR BORN FILMZ that looks like a session to brainstorm a new song, each artists going one by one showing off their bars. Starting out with a low transposed voice reporting for the chorus, “Danger Hip Hop Is Back.” Deen Akbar starts out the circle ominously positive and confident, “…Motivate, celebrate, the key to this whole function. Got my foot on they necks, and plenty verses ready, they nervous, might as well get the hearses ready.” Dee-Jay takes over next with a laid back flow, simultaneously quick with his words and syllables, showing off his lyrical talent!

StankNasty takes aim at mumble rappers and clout chasers, “I’m not one to be kind to mumbling prima donnas, thats on my momma. Clout chasin don’t get you commas, these pants saggin, braggin rappers ain’t shit but caca. Dropped on they heads when they was babies, goo-goo ga-ga.” Finally Mic Fort ends out the track and enters the scene with power, declaring, “Hips hops grim reaper. Had to steal their soldiers to turn em into believers. Ice cold from the freezer.” He takes aim at unoriginal, cookie-cutter artists that saturate the genre. “They givin up the game for fame, its strange they blame, they claim, T-pain said it best, ya’ll all sound the same, lack of originality…” Mic Fort’s closing line, “this is hip hop so beware the new era” can only be met with humble satisfaction, the future of hip hop is in good hands!

Mic Fort has been gaining a network of artists to work with, with his releases. DANGER in itself is packed with talent, just as his LP PENUMBRA was, getting his name known in different circles. He has been making the effort to get his name known in between his releases as well. Recently talking as a guest on Pillow Talk Podcast, he has also been making noise on stages at open mics and even Arizona’s Hip Hop Festival in mid September. Mic also plans to make an appearance at The Forge in Joliet, Il on the 30th to perform, so you can catch his era of hip hop live or just bump this on repeat here!

Mic Fort Overcomes Trust Issues With New Music

Never be afraid to learn something, because the moment you stop learning is the moment you start dying, as spoken by the incredible Albert Einstein. This can go for as far as education to personal knowledge and comforts, and those best at expressing these efforts are artists like Mic Fort. Just releasing a new hip hop single called TRUST MYSELF, Mic Fort goes through mental challenges, a discovery of self and preferred environments. On this lyrically heavy track, Mic effortlessly illustrates his thought process through it all. Of course life can really only be enjoyed once you learn to trust yourself, your environment and the people you keep around you.

To learn to trust yourself so you can trust who you intend bring around you is an incredibly profound discipline; to learn your own behavior, from the good to the self destructive, before you can examine anyone else’s hidden intentions. Mic jumps into his lyrics without hesitation “I cant trust myself, I gotta find myself, so I hide and seek me, I can’t be nobody else. The road goes cold when you take back control, but as long as I got music I can never be alone.” The track itself, produced by KYLO, is such a groove, reeling you into a mood on the intro; a soulection type of vibe, but heavy on the beat work, meant to compliment Mic Forts lyricism and flow. Speaking nothing but truths, “the phone goes silent when you not the first to call, text messages be dry, you surround by the walls. As you start poppin’ they start wanna give you a call…” Mic points out fake people that just intend to leach, but he finds peace from them as well, “But lately I been meditating. Music, work I’m dedicated. Strategies has been created, I’m on a role, you can’t replace me…” Yoo can tell with the confidence on the mic, Mr. Fort has the utmost trust in his own craft.

TRUST MYSELF breaks Mic into this year, following up on a powerful 2020 stretch. Mic Fort is still glowing off the work from his last project and 2nd LP PENUMBRA. Just on the starting path this year Mic plans on multiple releases. As early as May 21st you can catch Mic collaborating with his brother Dee-Jay, most likely being a multiple track project. He is also planning on a few visual releases for his recently released tracks as well. Mic Fort has been on a roll since his first LP, DREAMS TO GOALS, dropped in 2019 and he has not stopped since, so check out his links below and give Mic a follow!

Mic Fort’s Penumbra Eclipses The Game

In astronomy PENUMBRA is the outer shadow surrounding the edge of the dark inner shadow. Upon first listen, it is a fitting title for Mic Fort‘s latest album PENUMBRA. With dark hip hop beats and even darker lyrics, it sounds like Mic Fort is walking on the edge of his dark side, sinning, lusting, and chasing game without a care. But what is also partially hidden is a sensual side too, serenading over a series of R&B tracks, Packed with an earful 17 tracks, with collaborations from Ben Solo, Dolla Sign IME, Lashawn Cobi, Henry Arts, Young Dave, Chris Hasty, Doty G Mac, Dee-Jay and A I R. Putting in a great amount of talent and effort into the project Mic Fort created an entertaining LP fit with an intro, outro, interlude and even skits.

The intro is jazzy lounge beat with some verses, and some motivational speech sampled as if waiting in a lobby. Then the energy changes with a dark low humming bass-line on the 2nd track, FIRE, and quick witty lyrics playing on lust, and a touch of that ego we like to call independent attitude. The following track, MY TIME, gets even more rude with, “Don’t waste my time, if you ain’t ready… if you ain’t bout it,” not being shy about taking every moment serious from the start! 6:28 Remix doubles down on that idea and even foreshadows new music, “I’m so hot yea I’m so right now… I ain’t Chris Weber I don’t need no timeouts, only time I need is right now. 6:28, 6:28… I ain’t playing with ya’ll n***as, 3rd album on the way.” But even this harshness gives way to a diverse array of serenading vocals and R&B beats following a skit to bridge into it. With such an excellent eclectic release, you would be pleased to know another music video EVIDENT, second to RAIN, is on its way, along with a follow up to PENUMBRA in 2021.

Mic Fort & StankNasty’s Tribute To Libras

Sometimes we need to step back and balance ourselves mentally, and whether you are a Libra or know one, there is guidance to be found in their peace keeping aura, as they have to ability to harmonize people and situations. Not ironically, music centers their life as well, and judging by the quality of LIBRA SCALE, this collaboration between Chicago artists StankNasty and Mic Fort, the two proudly embrace that of their sign! The hip hop beat itself is simple yet uplifting, none too wild or dull, as StankNasty lays down that Libra charm lyrically with the first verses. You can hear the free spirited side of the sign, and eagerness for fairness; putting the game on the libra scale, the two repeat in the chorus. Mic Fort on the final verses remind all of their significance, “Libra gang all season, all year… it’s written in night sky, destined for greatness!” Fellow Libras are in agreement as the tune reached 10k plays within 1st month of its release, so press play and join in on the celebration, it is Libra season.
