Mic Fort is keeping up momentum with another new release that features a few Chicago artists. Mic has been keeping his fans occupied with a few hit singles this year following his sophomore LP PENUMBRA. Sittin on singles like WIFI DOWN, TRUST MYSELF & LIVING LIFE ft Dee-Jay, Mic Fort now gives us DANGER. Bringing back Dee-Jay, Deen Akbar and StankNasty who is hot off a debut EP release titled EPIC and a hit single with AMK and Johnny Innuendo, Gerald The Genius L. Mic Fort and StankNasty are not unfamiliar either, having worked together on a track before called LIBRA SCALE, a tribute to the respective astrological sign.
DANGER comes with a music video directed by AIR BORN FILMZ that looks like a session to brainstorm a new song, each artists going one by one showing off their bars. Starting out with a low transposed voice reporting for the chorus, “Danger Hip Hop Is Back.” Deen Akbar starts out the circle ominously positive and confident, “…Motivate, celebrate, the key to this whole function. Got my foot on they necks, and plenty verses ready, they nervous, might as well get the hearses ready.” Dee-Jay takes over next with a laid back flow, simultaneously quick with his words and syllables, showing off his lyrical talent!
StankNasty takes aim at mumble rappers and clout chasers, “I’m not one to be kind to mumbling prima donnas, thats on my momma. Clout chasin don’t get you commas, these pants saggin, braggin rappers ain’t shit but caca. Dropped on they heads when they was babies, goo-goo ga-ga.” Finally Mic Fort ends out the track and enters the scene with power, declaring, “Hips hops grim reaper. Had to steal their soldiers to turn em into believers. Ice cold from the freezer.” He takes aim at unoriginal, cookie-cutter artists that saturate the genre. “They givin up the game for fame, its strange they blame, they claim, T-pain said it best, ya’ll all sound the same, lack of originality…” Mic Fort’s closing line, “this is hip hop so beware the new era” can only be met with humble satisfaction, the future of hip hop is in good hands!
Mic Fort has been gaining a network of artists to work with, with his releases. DANGER in itself is packed with talent, just as his LP PENUMBRA was, getting his name known in different circles. He has been making the effort to get his name known in between his releases as well. Recently talking as a guest on Pillow Talk Podcast, he has also been making noise on stages at open mics and even Arizona’s Hip Hop Festival in mid September. Mic also plans to make an appearance at The Forge in Joliet, Il on the 30th to perform, so you can catch his era of hip hop live or just bump this on repeat here!
