Personification is used in a countless amount of ways in music, religions and other mediums to express and understand ourselves and the world.
Pauzu is not only the latest EP by
RAAKMO but the name is also that of an evil spirit of wind that causes famine and protects from other evil spirits ironically. The song reflecting the EP’s title starts off with a familiar melody that generally brings shivers down anyones spine. From the original
Exorcist,
Pazuzu was though to be the demon possessing poor little Regan MacNeil. For others the name is recognizable as Professor Farnsworth magic dragon in Futurama.
Anyway the 2 track EP holds up to the
Hardest Music In Chicago motto RAAKMO has in place. On the second track
Carnage, VOVIII hops on production for a collaboration. The two sample the legendary
“Blast, Beat, Go” recording by
Nari and Milani‘s
Atom to lead into heavy hardstyle beat upon a melodic buildup. Pazuzu follows an
Avicii remix,
Chupacabra, The Galaxy and Rich Chigga. With bass scarier than the demon itself, this EP is a must have for you sets!
