Solstis Beyond Creative in Youth

Milestones are something to look forward to for anyone out there setting goals as an artist or individual. Musically Solstis has been surpassing many feats within the last year alone! Every release they published not only sounds amazing but has some connotation to them. Following this duo for a couple years now it has been inspiring to seeing how they have been evolving through sound and technique.

Recently taking Luna Shadows music another go, already giving her track Cry Wolf a remix with SANDS, the two found a greater idea to incorporate into a remix. The plan is use more live music instrumentation into their sets and they nailed it. Exploring different styles they landed on indie rock marking their first time to include a guitar solo. This track in particular is meant to be played in a live format. Making their music exclusive to their live sets now this sets them apart from many EDM artists, thinking outside the box in terms of technique and range of sounds for their performances.

This remix follows yet another milestone in their career with the release of their debut album Nowhere. This project is a collection of the finest sounds and a wide range of emotion. Over a years worth of work and imagination put into this LP the opening track, inspired by Smashing Pumpings and 90’s Rock, sets the mood for the LP with a epic buildup. Acquiring the melody from ODDEEO before the inception of the idea of an LP, who also collabed on Robot Daydream years back, Dreaming in Reverse is a climactic build leading to a Euphoric melody that gives a breath of fresh air before the next beat Open Your Eyes blows you away. This kind of production has been pivitol in their position with music and something to be excited about as far as newer music if you have not followed them it is about time!

Solstis remixes Nelly Fertado

Nelly Furtado, a pop icon in mid 2000’s has many hits rolling off the tongues of reminiscent fans till this day. Put her songs on a throwback playlist and you will set off any party. As many other artists have, Solstis take a shot at remixing Say It Right and they revive it. Beautifully adding synths smoothly over a bass line without drawing too much away from the original melody.

An uplifting beat following their remix of Cry Wolf by Luna Shadows and a move to Seattle from their hometown Chicago. In the wake of a decision to commit to music the duo are following up with an EP soon to come. A 9to5 can be very distracting. Meanwhile you can sit back relax and dance to this.

Hiding From the Rain Remix Highlight: Solstis

Released a in April, Autolaser & PLS&TY produced Hiding From The Rain with MARØ on Trap Nation that quickly gained popularity. The combination of MARØ’s vocals and beat and synth patterns drove everyone wild. Trap Nation thought it is so good they said hey it could use a remix. In comes an 18 artist remix ep released in July featuring Chicago’s own Solstis amongst producers like WildeFire, Frankie Sanchez, Maliboux, NINE LIVES, Indiginous and KNAME. Stripping down HDTR, they add their own future bass ingredients, remake a more ambient intro over cinematic drumming that leads into a bass heavy drop. A great addition to their playlist as their tour in between festivals and shows. Do not miss out on this free download!
