The silent but talented Attlas, also known as Jeff Hartford, is back with another EP, Scene; What a smooth yet gritty combination of sounds and vocals this one is. Getting better and more in depth with every new track we get to know a little bit more of Attlas every time. Not by picture yet, those are hard to piece together from facebook. We do know that not only is he a talented artist but a generous one. Since we last mentioned Attlas he gave away remixes, singles and a surprise collab!
One of his more recent free singles, Chemical Low Moan is dark techno house tune with smooth progressions that flip into deep hypnotic basslines and synth work making a great tune for the dance floor. He also meddled with a rework of America by Xylo, giving it an epic cinematic feel to it. Rhianna‘s track Bitch Better Have My Money got a face lift by Attlas as well and he pulled it off in his very own temperamental style. Finally the most exciting release would be Make A Baby, a collab track with the one and only Aphex Twins where you can perfectly hear how to they worked together combing sounds and styles, absolutely brilliant track.
But once you take a look, or a listen, at Scene you will see why Attlas got the great opportunity to work with Aphex Twin! He has an extraordinary ability to carry your moods through sound. Being inspired by movie soundtracks, as you can really hear, he truly can make a song sound cinematic. Almost as if you were on an adventure in a movie yourself. Without sticking to a single genre restriction Attlas is able to create an EP with a combination of energies, tempos and sounds high and low, I would make Jeff blush if I described. His music is always a great experience, is style is surely one of a kind; Attlas is proving to be a very talented getting him some good attention. We look forward to his future tracks but for now take a listen to Scene.
