Though based in Denver, CO Brennen Bryarly stays close to his Chicago family with roots deeply embedded in deep house and underground. Under the alias Option4 he took the underground Chicago house sound and made his own formula out of it and continues to push his creative limits. His influence has given him opportunities to befriend Chicago artists’ like Autograf and remix a track or collaborate with. He has also been able to take his Chicago influence to his home in Denver and reshape the underground house scene there with his promotional company the Hundred and music festival Cloak & Dagger.
Over the last month Option4 has been releasing a new project little by little through NestHQ releases. Working with Sweat It Out label on this, this project is outside the box than your conventional EP releases. Collaborating with Ashley Jones on art illustrations, Brennen has created a soundtrack for an alternate reality comic book series based upon characters and friends in his music career and home city of Denver, CO. The outcome is quite an entertaining and interactive experience between fans and the artist.
The comic is based upon the legalization of marijuana in Denver, CO and the expectations that came out of it vs the reality. Many believed the legalization of the herb would raise crime rate levels as a consequence. What has happened was quite the opposite, the city thrived economically and everyone was too baked and happy to produce crime. This comic portrays the expectations of the fearful public and as the listener and reader you can listen to and watch as the story unfolds with every release.

Scrolling through my soundcloud feed I strolled upon a masterpiece of sounds and melody. With a succession of string instruments and funky basslines, German duo KlangTherapeuten have created a track that sounds like heaven in your ears. This piece is fit with piano, synths, a groovy a bassline and what sounds like violin & cello that would make Holding Hands sound orchestral. It would be a wonderful experience to be able to see this performed with live instruments. But for now enjoy it as a free download!
As one of the newest signed artists on Toolroom Records, Amtrac releases Those Days for his debut on the label.
