If you were to plan world domination, starting with music influence would be smart. RAAKMO seems to be foreshadowing; his latest collab Take Over with an artist named Gl0bal? Maybe only obvious to some. Working together last year on their track Slept On ft Malcolm Flex following the Pazuzu EP, seems they been plotting for a while, as their style certainly got heavier and production quality got cleaner. RAAKMO also worked with Porn & Chicken recently releasing Get Back. Gearing up for festival season crowds, tracks like these will cause a ruckus!
If you want to make EDM and dance music more dance-able, just add Spanish! Often choosing Latin influenced artists to remix, Narkalix seems to have his own formula to a perfect moombahton style beat. Bouncing between a hardstyle bpm and raggaeton, he releases two originals you cannot help but to move to. As the name will literally tell you Mueve Ese Culo and his earlier release Dame Un Besos will just get you hot on a dance floor! A talented DJ and Producer bringing out some of Chicagos different culture as well as the motivation to move that ass. Add Narkalix to your playlist to turn up any situition.
Personification is used in a countless amount of ways in music, religions and other mediums to express and understand ourselves and the world. Pauzu is not only the latest EP by RAAKMO but the name is also that of an evil spirit of wind that causes famine and protects from other evil spirits ironically. The song reflecting the EP’s title starts off with a familiar melody that generally brings shivers down anyones spine. From the original Exorcist, Pazuzu was though to be the demon possessing poor little Regan MacNeil. For others the name is recognizable as Professor Farnsworth magic dragon in Futurama.
Anyway the 2 track EP holds up to the Hardest Music In Chicago motto RAAKMO has in place. On the second track Carnage, VOVIII hops on production for a collaboration. The two sample the legendary “Blast, Beat, Go” recording by Nari and Milani‘s Atom to lead into heavy hardstyle beat upon a melodic buildup. Pazuzu follows an Avicii remix, Chupacabra, The Galaxy and Rich Chigga. With bass scarier than the demon itself, this EP is a must have for you sets!
Claiming to have the “Hardest Music in Chicago”, we would like to see anyone step up to the plate. You cannot go harder than Hardstyle, and RAAKMO is credited with some the best to come out of the city. Invited to some of the most wild parties such as Porn and Chicken Monday Night Dance Party, why? Just take a listen to his recent series of remixes.
Now RAAKMO typically leans towards Hardstyle but what makes any good artist is to blend style and make your own. His Rich Chigga remix has a trap bass foundation to it but you can clearly hear his hardstyle influence. Just as well with his Turn Day Turn Night remix with VOVIII. RAAKMO has an interesting Hardstyle infused trap formula and it works well with his collaborators. With Keku however they two stuck to hardstyle with they remix of Chupacabra by Carnage.
Umbertron from Chicago coming back heavy with a remix this time around. This follows a music video for UME, a very smooth juke track he released during a visit in Tokyo, Japan. This new remix is a turn around from that vibe. Unleashing BoyzzDontCry onto the world, a wild hardstyle beat originally created by Kurama to be released on Nest HQ. You can grab it for free as well as gift from the artist. Stay up to date with Umbertrons happenins on his soundcloud linked below.
