Imagine walking into a party or club. Now, what song would be playing in the background? That’s What I Said would be the song that would be playing and automatically, you will know that you will be having a great time. This is the song you get really amped up to when you are ready to go out and have a great time. It is fun and bouncy, with a mix of smoothness like your up to no good. The mascot to Bunny Tiger Records defiantly matches his music, softly aggressive with a bounce. Bunny Tiger records has artists like Sharam Jey, Kolombo, and Phonique.

Daniel Fernandes is a 21 year old that has dropped out of University to follow his goals of being a successful DJ according to his website biography. He has made the right decision, makes you want to hear more! He gets his fans, who does not like to get real dirty?

Summer Never Ends for Jack LNDN

jacklndn2

The super talented Jack LNDN from, you guessed it; London, has just released a couple of remixes, among a series of remixes on his soundcloud. This one will have you hooked. LNDN takes an already catchy pop song by James Hersey, whos voice works perfectly with Jacks chords and jazzy disco house vibes, and turns it into a groovy dance mix. But this remix is not the only one to receive so much attention! Even if you have not heard of Jack LNDN you have most likely heard his work.

LNDN made some noise remixing the award winning track Rather Be by the Clean Bandits. That track alone has over one hundred and seventy thousand views on soundcloud! Third most views next to his track on Aeterna, off of his Drop Out EP and his amazing Remix of Get Lucky by Daft Punk. But it was his Rather Be remix that had the honor of being featured on Electric Forest Music Festivals 2015 trailer.

Now Jack is getting ready to hit up a series of cities for a North American tour this summer starting May 4th. You can expect a lot of new tunes from his new EP Summer Never Ends on most of these live shows. And live shows is what we will expect to see from Jack in the near future. Recently speaking with Throwed Magazine about his touring and new music, Jack mentioned he is “currently developing a live show where I’m trying to bring in some vocals and live vocoder stuff“. He also spoke up playing with the ideas of using keyboards or even drum pads for live performance. Which would be quite spectacular, since he has a background in classical music growing up!

While talking to Throwed as well he had noted an ambition that he was his fans to know about. Aside from working on funky deep house tunes Jack LNDN has also found a passion in making hip hop beats. “There’s certain hip hop that you can listen to in any mood. Since then I’ve been doing beats with people“. This ambition has already got LNDN to do a track on Lupe Fiasco‘s new album, and possibly an EP with him lined up for the future. Judging by the sound of his new deep house master piece remix of Snoop Dogg‘s Peaches N’ Cream, I will say I trust LNDN’s style of hip hop and I cannot wait to hear it what he has got!

In the interview he also talked about his creative process of making a song. He said “I’ll sit down at the piano and work something out that I like.  It usually always begins around chords because thats what I know, thats what I was brought up on“. Listening to his new tracks, which you can find for free on his soundcloud easier than you can find a colorful picture of him, you can hear his professional keyboard skills work wonders for your ears. The rhythm flowing so perfectly with ambient harmonies and melodies, creating wonderful and funky dance tracks. You can hear tracks off his new Summer Never Ends EP on his soundcloud where he just released his final installment Fooled Around.

Mat Zo Breaking Genre Barriers

Mat Zo

His genre defying music is always turning heads at every corner. His musical creativity, unmatched. Matan Zohar, other wise known as Mat Zo, is truly an independent and innovative artist in the world of dance music. Recently Mat Zo conjured up his own record label Mad Zoo joining the rank of independent record label owner with artists like Diplo (Mad Decent), Deadmau5 (Mau5trap), A-Trak (Fools-Gold), Skrillex (Owsla) and others alike.

With no hesitation Mat Zo released his first EP Up, Down, Left, Right under his label, not wasting any time. The EP contains two tracks varying in genre. The first track Get Down 2 Get Up is a house collaboration with the Knocks that has a nice electro-funk that will have you sayin God Damn God damn! while you groove on the dance floor. Left To Right is a breaks solo storm, with harsh electro bass synth bursts and claps that will slap you right to left. Starting with a dark but energetic beat then properly smoothing into an uplifting airy breaks track. This 2 track EP has got it all.

Then from house to breaks Mat Zo has another track up his sleeve and this time he is set to wow the world of dubstep. I see MONSTAS track Circles gets a complete make over from blissful drum and bass to in your face hard dubstep. Something you would not expect from Mat Zo but it was only a matter of time before he reached all spectrums of sound. This remix starts slow but before you know it you are hit with pounding chopped up bass and vocals. In between drops you get a break of nice vocalization and melody but before you can catch your breath Zo strikes again and then he ends it smoothly. So much energy in a quick 4:33 time lapse.

Zeds Dead Somewhere Else Ep

zedsdeadsomewhereelse

DC & Hooks just released their new EP Somewhere Else on the first day of July. On this 8 track EP Zeds Dead brought back Omar Linx, who we all know to have worked with the Canadian duo on countless tracks, and Memorecks who worked on the single Jericho months prior. DC & Hooks also collabed with Big Gigantic, Bright Lights, Perry Farrell, Twin Shadow & D’Angelo Lacy and Sean Price to give this EP such amazing vibes that differentiate between each song from smooth and fluid to heavy and wild. Somewhere Else really shows this duo’s abilities to evolve their sound and adapt with the times and audiences to stay relevant while keeping that distinctive sound we all love so much.

Before the release of this EP Zeds Dead dropped plenty of preview tracks for Somewhere Else to keep fans ready for the new release. They came through not only with sounds to satisfying our ears but with visual stimulation as well. They unleashed a real tripped out video for the track Lost You ft Twin Shadow & D’Angelo Lacy. The psychedelic animations in the video reminiscent of a bad acid trip features melting faces and skulls, colorful animals and layering visuals with just about every color and pattern sequence you can think of. Check out the video below yourself.

Unloading previews and videos from the EP to fans might have seemed generous enough of them but check this out. Zeds Dead actually partnered up with bit torrent to give fans a package of free material from them. This package would include an unreleased track Love Me, full video of Lost You for you to own, the stems to their hit track Hadouken and their first EP Fresh Beets when they were just known as Mass Productions. Own all that and more when you download the bit torrent bundle here.

Discover Zhu with the Nightday EP

Image

There is a new mysterious producer in our midst and if you have not heard of him yet do not feel discouraged, Zhu would rather stay anoymous. “Music is Faceless. Let my music tell my story” it reads on his facebook biography. After Do Androids Dance posted his Moves Like Jackson remix of Outkast, Zhu got a lot of attention around the world, even getting a feature on Pete Tong Essentials on BBC Radio 1 a couple weeks ago. Prior to that, Zhu released his Nightday EP showcasing his deep and sexy house beats, a beautiful start to Zhu’s faceless story.

CRNKN drops “the Clearing” EP

Image

CRNKN has the the third free release on the Nest HQ platform in what he is calling his “first legitimate EP”. Along with the 6 track EP, the man also known as Gabriel Baer released a concept video to outline the overall feel and idea of new EP “The Clearing”. The video is a black and white grainy artist rendering of a mans struggle to overcome fear to reach his goal, with clips of all 6 tracks playing one after the other setting the mood for the visuals. It is seemingly an artistic metaphor for whatever challenges lie between person and their ultimate goal and what it takes to achieve it.

For Gabriel it seems his goal is to challenge what people expect of him musically. In an interview with Nest he states, “With The Clearing I wanted to try and distance myself from whatever preconceived notions people had / have about the kinds of music that I make”, he goes on to say, “It’s really important to have room to experiment and grow as an artist so with this release I’m hoping to lay the groundwork for that”.

CRNKN’s shift in artistic expression musically is apparent with one of his recent remixes “Bedroom Wall” from Banks, taking on a more deep house vibe rather than his usual trap beats. His experimentation is getting some positive feedback from the fans as well. I personally enjoy hearing an artist take on new styles mixed with their own, and with CRNKN, you can you can really hear how his style is evolving scrolling through his soundcloud.

Be sure to check out the Clearing EP below!
