Chicago hip hop producers 5HERiFF and CEO Beatz came out of the wood work to make a track D I S N E Y together. The two individually have quite the impressive collection of music. 5HERiFF starting to play with sounds and music at a relatively young age and has become very skilled at intricate beat work and harmonizing over time. CEO also a long time producer gets more in depth with every track he makes. Both great credits to the hip hop and trap music genres making real vibin tunes like this one here.
Lowtemp artists and Probcause are making quite the buzz since linking up with each other to make singles like Tilt Mode and Monster Stomp. Their vibe and taste in music is quite similar so they are making the most out of this connection pumping out plenty of music. Branx recently took a liking to the Chicago rapper and collaborated. That unification formed the single Roman Columns featuring Adrian Lau with some help on production from Exmag, another great Lowtemp artist that has collabed with Probcause on more than one occasion.
Exmag has produced at least one track as well on Probcause’s recent album Drifters. That album alone has a few Lowtemp Artists sprinkled all over; which would make sense knowing it was released off the very same label. The Geek & VRV, Gibbz and of course Gramatik make their sound known in the project. In between you will see credit to a few go to Chicago producers of Prob; Cofresi and Drew Mantia. Both excellent and talented beat makers who work using live midi controllers or drum pads. Talent and creativity altogether this album is one addicting collection.
If you have been following Mat Zo as you should, the man comes up with some pretty intricate pieces of audio pretty much all the time. He has been rustling up the sound wave vibrations lately, you know, making some noise. Since his last string of original releases and of course fiddling with tech house and jungle sound ideas, Mat has just been out remixing everything. You go Mat, show ’em how it’s done.
We start off with his remix of Porter Robinson’s track Flicker. Reuniting the two like minded producers who have collaborated before. Porter Robinson praising this track as one of the best remixes he has ever received in his entire life; and rightly so. Everytime Mat Zo makes music it seems as if it is second nature to him, constantly pushing the limits and genre barriers, learning and growing better everyday!
The Knocks dance track Collect My Love featuring Alex Lowell gets a redesign by Mat. Giving it a more moodier and euphoric over tone on the build ups and break downs and that Electro Zo vibe, this remix is still one to move your feet too; he mixes it up perfectly. The Knocks and Zo collabed before as well on Get Down 2 Get Upand the trio plan to make much more music together as they told Billboard. In a quick interview on the release Zo stated that he loved working with them and they said Zo was “freakishly talented” and they already have a handful of songs they are all working on together. Expect more from them.
Mat revisits old buddy Arty as well on his remix of Stronger featuring Ray Dalton. Zo and Arty worked together previously on tracks like Rebound and Mozart. A couple of progressive house tracks early in their career that showcased their early talents. Would love to see another collaboration between the two now that they are both older and wiser! We will have to wait and see if that happens.
We cannot say much on what antics Mat Zo is up to next. His label Mad Zoo is working great and he continues to release free tracks like his Stronger Remix for simple reasons. We do know for sure though that he is working on new music. He did release a real cool new Mat Zo logo, but that is not how we found out. The man himself celebrated on Twitter that he started the first song of his 3rd album. So new logo, new music, new chapter in Mat Zo. If his new album is anything like his last LP Damage Control then you are going to want to stay tuned for this. Zo has got some real talent up his sleeves and he can take over if he wants to.

So remember when I wrote about an upcoming new artist Alessia Cara a few months ago? Being released off his own label Confession, Tchami teases his upcoming EP After Life. Teaming up with the Night Bass master AC Slater and vocalist Kaleem Taylor they create an energetic track that will really get the dance floor goin. Missing You is the second song released off his upcoming EP. Starting with Kaleems vocals over airy synths into heavy and bouncy bass and chopped up vocals, they really got creative on this one. The quality Tchami track we were waiting for since he released After Life EP single featuring Stacy Bathe few months back. Though the EP may take a while, us fans will wait happily with this continuous flow of releases like his remix of Timeless by Caroline Koch and this gem. Check it out below.
The silent but talented Attlas, also known as Jeff Hartford, is back with another EP, Scene; What a smooth yet gritty combination of sounds and vocals this one is. Getting better and more in depth with every new track we get to know a little bit more of Attlas every time. Not by picture yet, those are hard to piece together from facebook. We do know that not only is he a talented artist but a generous one. Since we last mentioned Attlas he gave away remixes, singles and a surprise collab!
One of his more recent free singles, Chemical Low Moan is dark techno house tune with smooth progressions that flip into deep hypnotic basslines and synth work making a great tune for the dance floor. He also meddled with a rework of America by Xylo, giving it an epic cinematic feel to it. Rhianna‘s track Bitch Better Have My Money got a face lift by Attlas as well and he pulled it off in his very own temperamental style. Finally the most exciting release would be Make A Baby, a collab track with the one and only Aphex Twins where you can perfectly hear how to they worked together combing sounds and styles, absolutely brilliant track.
But once you take a look, or a listen, at Scene you will see why Attlas got the great opportunity to work with Aphex Twin! He has an extraordinary ability to carry your moods through sound. Being inspired by movie soundtracks, as you can really hear, he truly can make a song sound cinematic. Almost as if you were on an adventure in a movie yourself. Without sticking to a single genre restriction Attlas is able to create an EP with a combination of energies, tempos and sounds high and low, I would make Jeff blush if I described. His music is always a great experience, is style is surely one of a kind; Attlas is proving to be a very talented getting him some good attention. We look forward to his future tracks but for now take a listen to Scene.
Kygo has Stole The Show since Firestone, released in 2014. Ranking number one in Norway according to the Norwegian Charts. Headlining in huge festivals like TomorrowWorld in Georgia and Findings in Norway. Song after song, he has us wanting more. In late July, sponsor by Über, he threw a surprise free pre-show in Chicago in honor of Lollapalooza . Fans were going crazy trying to access entry to this sold out show.
If you ever feel lonely, just know that Kygo has partnered up with British Vocalist, Ella Henderson and are here for you. His new single Here For You makes you feel nothing but encouraged. As if there was a hand on your shoulder, telling you that everything will be alright. Even if in your life, you keep chasing the wrong. A very supportive song for those who keep going for what is inconvenient. Just know they’re will always be someone there for you to catch you.
One of many Kygo’s talents is remixing a song and giving it The One and Only unique touch. The song that gave him more of a public recognition was I See Fire by Ed Sherran. His more recent spin off is Dirty Paws by Of Monster and Men (OMAM),giving it more of tropical house. OMAM’s song is already very imaginative. Kygo did a great job giving it more of a delicate fairy tale like tempo.
Looking for something new and edgy to listen too? 18 year old Tkay Maidza is an female emcee born in Zimbabwe, Africa. At the age of 5 her family moved to her current hometown Adelaide, Australia. This little lady is pint sized, bursting full speed into the scene in 2013 with her hit Brontosaurus feat. Badcop.
She enjoys daring lap dances during her radio show interviews and please do not compare her to Azaelia Banks or her fellow home mate Iggy Azalea. She’s in her own lane. Tkay spits her flow over any genre from Electronic, Pop, Alternative and she does it very well.
Tkay starts off singing her chorus lyrics over this electronic pop beat song “MOB” Money over B%$#!es. Wait until the base drops, she then starts to rap. If it’s too fast to comprehend, look up the lyrics. The meaning behind this song is an ethos “hard work over stupid shit.
What’s up Next for Tkay Maidza
Tkay is currently on a national tour with recording artist Rita Ora as well as performing in Festivals such as Beyond the Valley, THIS THAT, SPLENDOUR and more. She is collaborating with other music artist like Charli XCX, Mark Ronson as well as A$AP Ferg.
