Hip Hop mic handler Omar Linx hooked up with Hunter Siegel and Pro Logic for production on his lastest release. Back To You, released via Buygore, has an intense yet ambient feel to it. Omar Linx always hits the mic with such passion and energy combined with melody and synths brings you a song you can really dig into.
Linx can Keep It Mellow too on the other hand with a free one released late last month by Marshmello. True to its name it stay real vibrant with a bassline synth and piano dancing with some vocals that bring the track down to earth. Gotta give it to Linx for not being a one styled one genre artists. Always pushing the boundaries as he grow.
The local Chi-town drummer and independent artist Ben Cofresi has some fun in the studio. Seems he is always in there or out doing live shows so why not. Recently releasing his Nuveau EP & a few singles including a feauture on Probcause‘s Drifters LP and joining LIDO on tour, making a stop in hometown Chicago of course, Cofresi is making himself known. Keeping the fans occupied, he just released a beautiful future bass tune, Lykedat, a real good vibe tune as free download as well. Cofresi’s wavy synths and amazing drum work really hits a sweet spot.
Earlier this month Machobeats released The Mid onto his soundcloud. A real heavy and gritty trap instrumental. Get some good speakers and feel this bass in your chest it is ridiculous. Machobeatz is a genius with trap and hip hop music production and is also open to selling his beats to aspiring individual artists or even collaborating over at Ever Evolved Studio.
Wednesday, November 25th Machobeats had the opportunity to open for Curren$ythe Spitta. On the beat pads, Macho controlled the sound and while fellow Ever Evolved studio members Rhymster, Mike Booth and AR of Triangle Offense hit the mic and controlled the energy. Macho entered and without uttering a word let his music speak, hittin the crowd with heavy bass and beat work. Absolute best crowd control of the night. Aside from the $pitta Curren$y of course, it was a great night for local artists too.
Hermitude is set to make an appearance at the Australian Aria Awards on the 26th of November. They duo has gathered up 7 nominations in their country in the areas “Best Album of the Year” “Best Australian Live Act” “Best Group” Best Producer” to name a few! I have had the joy to be able to experience Hermitude live and I have a good feeling they will get that Australian Live Act. The energy they brought to Toyota Park for Freaky Deaky Chicago 2015 was just incredible.
Aside from that news Hermitude presents you fans with new music as well! Xan Young on the vocals for their most recent track. The collab creates a beautiful future classic tune for a chill day. Right after releasing a heavy hitter for fellow Australian producer Alison Wonderland and their latest album Dark Night Sweet Light. Go back and forth between moods with the two tracks.
Lets take it back to the old days, Al Capone is still running Chicago, speak easy’s are thriving off bootleg alcohol and the Jazz was as smooth as that cigar you are poofin on at the bar. The women dancing the Charleston, with their bold lipstick colors and their long dress and fancy head dresses. Then you got Probcause over here stealing the show with his orchestra, Donnie Trumpet, Cofresi on the drums and KSRA serenading the crowd. Coming from his 2014 Waves EP, Prob brings this song back from the past with the new video but he is also coming with new music too.
Fellow white rapper Lil Dicky caught the Chicago locals ear, probably after Dicky got the brilliant idea of making a music video using other peoples resources. Sort of a social experiment. The two jumped on a beat together and here we have The Woods. A real chill and catchy beat that will have you munchin out at the crib next to your bong all day.
So Prob is continuing with his collaborations, so much so that you would wonder where he even gets the time to eat and sleep. Right after releasing a hit with Branx, Exmag and Adrian Lau, and producing his own track with DRO, Prob went back to the homie Drew Mantia and released Same Thing, a track for the fifth compilation album installment by AC3, a highly reputable Hip Hop Festival partnered with iHip Hop Distribution. Prob take 5 man you deserve it.
UPDATE: 11/23/15 4:45pm: Premiering on Mass Appeals Probcause unleashes a creative art music video for his track Same Thing with Drew Mantia. While this is his first video animated video with the help of Elijah Alvarado Prob is no stranger to art and drawing. Having an Art Degree at the Art Institute of Chicago, it definitely helped with a skill explored in early ages. “I grew up drawing and was always attracted to graffiti” Colin explained to Mass Appeals. “I started painting pretty young but got arrested a few too many times… It basically got to a point where I was putting my college scholarship on the line if I got arrested again, so I decided to chill out a little bit in my 20s”.
Well we are glad Prob gets to release his creative angst through a professional medium combining it with his music career! You can bet that this will not be his last animated project. Follow Probcause’s Instagram located below for more of his creative art!
Zhu is a hit making machine and he is at it again with he latest releases on the Genesis Series. Releasing the songs in an untraditional manner to his fans. Zhu released each track individually on consecutive Fridays through mediums best fitting the track style. Really interesting artist to say the least, mysterious yet out of the box creative in every way.
Zhu has Come a long way since wooing the world with Faded and the NightDay EP. Since then he has remixed top artists to perfection. Now with Genesis he is collaborating with big names old and new. Really pushing the boundaries of electronic dance music and fusing a world of sound into it. Genesis is a melting pot of Funk, Jazz, Raggae, Hip Hop, Garage and House music to name a few! Zhu is staying true to the idea of making it about the music rather than his identity. Anybody got a picture of him yet?
The Genesis Series is packed with artist collabs from AlungaGeorge, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Skrillex, A-Trak, Gallant, to Keznamdi, Daniel Johns, They and few more. Each artist chosen came to the studio and made their music “from scratch, organically respecting the origins of how music was made”. The sounds of our generation in one collaborative effort.
By the looks of her facebook comments they would not now it But! This girl makes actual music and really good music too. They might be too distracted by her gracious look if they cannot find her soundcloud. Coming from Chicago Niykee Heaton is an artist that embraces body, mind and music. Whilst playing the guitar, she also produces and writes her own music! Not even a lot of mainstream artists can say that.
Best Thing Ever is a pretty catchy pop tune, released during her ongoing Bedroom Tour, which btw will be making a stop in Chicago on the 3rd of December at Concord Music Hall. Making a real cool diversity with this next song, KING, leans more on bass. Live shows must be a party. With excellent flow and vocal harmonics on the mic, it is written and produced yet again by the artist herself.
Niykee Heaton is making an excellent name for herself with her music and modeling, showing she is multi-talented. Gaining about a million facebook followers and 100K+ on soundcloud with millions of plays. Niykee is going wherever she is setting her mind to cause like KING, her track, she is KING in her mind. Despite the internet being a horrible place, Niykee the real fans will be at the show!
Gorgon City pretty much gets the gold standard in deep house music. Save My Life featuring ROMANS is a hit and we can all agree. Gorgon on the other hand was not finished with the track popping out with 2 more versions. One for the warehouse and one for the terrace these 2 are incredibly smooth remakes of the original. You will hear them echoing in your dome for days, weeks maybe.
Michael Jackson was not too fond of Rock music from what I have heard even though he had Eddie Van Halen on his hit song Beat It for the guitar solo. I wonder what he would have thought of about Hip Hop and Trap music. For Hucci this genre in electronic music is like second nature to him and I would say an excellent candidate to recreate a song by the King of Pop. Choosing one of MJ’s more rebellious lyrics from They Don’t Care About Us, Hucci chops and transposes them up in A Perfect Storm; creating a raw beat and rhythmic pattern around it. Grab the free download and get ready to be impressed.

This week I thought I would broadcast the attention on one of my favorite songs from the early 2000’s; Suga Suga by Baby Bash. One thing that I noticed was that this song is actually making a comeback in a unique way. Local and mainstream DJs are remixing and making the song their own. From the ones I have heard, each artist is adding something a little different, from funk, to wispy synths, to deep bass. Although it has changed, it still carries the heart and character of the original. Check them out! I left a few of my favorites from SoundCloud below.
New EZY Era is a Chicago born artist with an enigmatic sound. Raised in the multicultural suburbs of Chicago his sound blends as much as his surroundings.
Frekwenzy
My name is Ken and I am an engineer/ producer/ and graphic designer out of EverEvolved Studios located near Montrose Blue Line train station in Chicago, IL.
I specialize in EDM and trap based production. I tend to enjoy creating beats from scratch with the people I work with just because I believe in the artistry. It’s always fun to create something organic from scratch. What usually happens in one of my sessions is I would start working on a beat with a lyricist and we would bounce off ideas and give each other critiques.

William Bolanos
EverEvolved Owner
Born and raised in Chicago, Il. I started EverEvolved as a music blog to promote conscious creative music from Chicago. Throughout my life i have been entertained by music of all genres. Music is my one consistent love and seeing it promoted in mainstream television networks in such negative and lazy form, i decided to take matters into my own hands. Making it a mission to open minds to the underground and artists who create original music out of passion rather than greed.
Working along side Rhymster and Frekwenzy at Fort Knox Studios, we quickly transformed EverEvolved into a music studio, event and promotion company. With this platform we not only promote music, we create it and bring it to an audience directly. Hoping to inspire and bring talented individuals together. We aim to create a future of music with class, soul and original style.
Xandr
I started gaining an interest in music from a young age. Eventually taking guitar lessons when I was in 6th and 7th grade. Then later into highschool I was musically involved with some friends in a band for a while which just brought me closer and closer to music. Which ultimately lead to me picking up Ableton which completely changed my outlook on music altogether.
As far as to why I do it….well it’s just a part of me. Sitting down to compose and edit music always gives me a really calming rush. Especially knowing that I came from dreaming about as a kid to being here right now.
RhymSter
RhymSter
Julian Rodriguez, aka RhymSter, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. The interest to take on music didnt catch on until he graduated high school in 2010. Looking back on his past, he realized that all his life his family had exposed him to different genres of music such as 80s-90s Hip Hop, Jazz, Rock, Oldies, Soul, House, R&B, & various types of Spanish music. In a way, he was already preparing himself for what was to come.
Julian was a solo artist for some years building his skills and relationship with fellow partners/producers Frekwenzy & GridLockAndy. After some time Julian linked with William Bolanos, Founder of Ever Evolved, to establish a vision that both of them shared musically and creatively. During the time of building the company Julian expanded his creativity into production as well as taking on the business side of Ever Evolved. A jack of all trades is what you can call him.
